The amount of waste generated in India is increasing exponentially. But the country is unable to scale up its waste management processes accordingly.

SOLID WASTE

Every day 1.5 lakh tonnes of solid waste is generated. Out of that waste 4 lakh tonnes of e-waste goes into Garbage dumps every year.

MANUAL SEGREGATION

Sanitary workers have to work in garbage dumps to reclaim recyclable waste. This is a huge health hazard for them. Also, processing waste requires manual segregation, which is usually carried out in premises unfit for such operations.

RESOURCES REQUIRED

Institutional waste generators have to spend a large amount of money to handle and manage their waste on their own. Cost cutting on their end leads to waste not getting treated properly.

ENTIRE VALUE CHAIN

The entire value chain from collection to the end recycler is difficult to monetize and needs innovation to make it financially sustainable.

SOURCE SEGREGATION

Users are not encouraged to practice source segregation. Sometimes, users do segregate waste at the source but the poor infrastructure ends up mixing that waste back again to be dumped in a landfill or burned.

Circular economy using technology

We went about the task of developing an innovative solution to address them. We developed Recycling Kiosks to automate the process of collection and segregation of the different types of dry waste at the source itself, using a self-developed technology. The Kiosks will be assisted with a unique Reward engagement process that incentivizes the users on their disposal done correctly.
